About us
I grew up in a small town surrounded by farm fields. I planted gardens, watched tractors roll through each season, and for a long time I thought I’d become a farmer myself. Then in 8th grade, something new showed up in our classroom — computers. I was hooked. That curiosity turned into years of working with technology, eventually running my own repair shop.
Over time, though, the spark faded. I bounced through several corporate IT jobs that all felt the same, and when COVID hit, I was one of the many who got let go. I had been considering a career shift into Emergency Management, but the process was slow and I wasn’t eager to go back to school. So I worked a few low‑level jobs, all while feeling that old pull toward the land again.
By 2025, the farm bug was back in full force. One April morning, while waiting for Goodwill to open, I wandered into a Tractor Supply and saw the chicks they had out. We didn’t buy any there since we were out of town, but later that day we stopped at Farm King and brought home four. Our garden thrived that summer too. Now it’s January 2026 — we’ve maxed out the chicken limit for our city and we’re working on becoming part of Yard to Farm.
We’re excited to see where this journey takes us, and we’d love for you to follow along. Most updates will be on our Facebook page, with videos on YouTube as we grow, learn, and build this little farm dream together. And while it’s cold and the real‑world farm is quiet, I’ll also be livestreaming Farming Simulator — it’s not perfectly accurate, but it’s a fun way to keep the farming spirit going through the winter.
